The Frank H. Gill Company was founded by Frank H. Gill, grandfather of the present owners John and Thomas Gill. Mr. Gill opened his door for business in 1945 serving as an agent for Elwell-Parker and several other manufacturers providing products to the heavy industries such as steel mills and automotive plants in the Chicagoland and Indiana Harbor areas. Mr. Gill conducted business out of a small office in downtown Chicago for twenty- four years before moving the operation to their present location in Lansing, Illinois in 1969. The move was prompted by business growth and the need to provide additional support to the customer base being serviced. In 1956, Charlie Gill (Frank Gill's son) joined his father in the family business followed by his brother Jack in 1960. As their business continued to grow, additional product lines were added including Taylor-Dunn. They were signed on as a Taylor-Dunn dealer in 1972 and immediately became one of Taylor-Dunn's top performers.John Sanders joined our sales force in 1975 followed by current owners Tom (1992) and John (1995). The Frank H. Gill Company currently has seven employees. We are a prime example of a unique organization that may be small in numbers, but are fully capable of servicing a wide variety of customers.
